The Plan: Live’s custom strength training program incorporates the key components for teaching you how to perform the exercises to achieve the greatest results for each individual.
Assessment- Each person will complete a health history form and postural assessment questionnaire to ensure proper corrective exercises are incorporated into your fitness plan.
Instruction- Every exercise provides complete, step by step instruction through real person video, sequential photos and audio explanation from start to finish ensure you will understand every aspect of each exercise to get the most out of the workout. The strength plan comes in 4 phases;
Warmup- the beginning phase to raise the core temperature of the body and prepare for the workout. The benefits of the warmup will decrease the risk of injury including muscle pulls, tears and cramping. You will have more efficient movement during exercise, allowing you to execute the movements more effectively to get better results.
Corrective- following the postural assessment, the corrective portion is designed to work specifically on improving muscular imbalances that lead to injury. When you address the kinks in the chain, the whole body works better. An example of this would be strengthening the abdominals to decrease pain in the low back, or using a foam roll to improve flexibility in the hips that can decrease associated pain in the knees. The stronger and more stable you are in the core muscles, the faster you will reach your fitness goals.
Strength- each workout can be viewed or printed and there will be a list of exercises customized to help you reach your strength training goals and progresses at your level of fitness.
Cooldown- The final phase of the workout is used to make the transition from intense exercise to rest. The benefits include; improving flexibility and recovery for the next workout, reduced delayed onset muscle soreness, reduced risk of fainting secondary to blood pooling in the muscles, increased range of motion and flexibility, and increased removal of waste in the muscles including lactic acid.
Exercises- Live’s exercise selection provides choices and progression for beginner to advanced, for weight loss, injury prevention or athletic performance. All exercises an be done in the home or a gym, and will work to improve strength, stability, balance, muscle tone, performance and fat burning ability. Core training, to improve the strength in the abs, back, and hips will ensure you can perform functional tasks such as lifting boxes, doing chores or playing a competitive sports at the highest level possible without risking injury.
Variables- The programs are complete with variables such as sets, repetitions, and rest. All variables will progress to make every workout harder.
Equipment- The Live programs are designed to be completed in the home or the gym. The use of resistance bands, dumbbells, an exercise ball and other balance equipment is all that is needed to obtain excellent results in the comforts of your own home.
Versatility- Every workout can be downloaded into an I pod with video and audio instruction, and taken with you to provide complete instruction away from home. The program is designed to allow you to adapt, and then it changes to provide new stimulation and ensure you always have a creative and entertaining way to exercise.
